CommentsThanks dad! You have been a major supporter of actnuts. I wish everyone, including myself would take just a moment each day to write their thoughts. Barbra has been doing well with sending me pictures to put on. I love it!
CommentsI just spent an hour going back to yesteryear. Sometime I laughed and often there were tears. How quickly the years have passed. What wonderful memories! I read the posts and what happened so long ago, and they return to me and I relive them. How young we all were. Kurt, 35. Oh my son, I have loved being with you on so many occasions. Thank you for Actnuts and the wealth of pictures and words. I love you so much. Do you feel my love? What all Mama and I have created by just agreeing to spend the rest of our loves together.

CommentsI am wolf. It is my cry you hear in the night My eyes that gaze at you from the shadows, It is my heart that beats in your soul. It is strength that makes you whole. I am wolf, I am in you. You are in me. You are wolf!
CommentsDearest Kurt, Actnuts and the guestbook are one of the greatest things you have ever done. Members of our family who are yet unborn will cherish the site and all of the history it contains. You are wonderful and I love you more than words can tell. Always, your Dad
CommentsI loved the old posts. Time passes on! What is past is prologue. Words words words. What would life be without them? What is life with them? When Hamlet was asked what he was reading, he replied, "Words." But there are words that have no sound. You do not need to ask if I love you. Of course! (a look, not a spoken word). What do we leave behind? Not much. A few words, a few children, some money.(not much,) some junk, things. And in a few generations, people may ask, who is that? And in a few more generations, no one even asks. We are like the grains of sand on the beach. From a distance, we all look alike. But when you look more closely, we are all different and unique and very special.
CommentsGreat quote! Where does this candles stuff come from?
Comments"If music be the food of love, play on; Give me excess of it, that, surfeiting, The appetite may sicken, and so die." --From Twelfth Night (I, i,1-3)
CommentsIf a tree falls in the forest, and no one is there to hear it, is there any sound? If a message is sent and there is no response, has any message been sent?
CommentsTHANKSGIVING DAY We have gathered round the table At this Thanksgiving time. It’s great to be together, And we all are feeling fine. Nina has prepared the turkey. Barbra sliced up the ham. Christy has made the dressing, While Heather baked the yams. Kim works on his camera. Kurt entertains us all. Claude reads the newspapers And Derek makes a call. The kids play ball with Buddy. They have really done it all. Then at last we are assembled, When Grandpa gave the call. After Grandma carved the turkey, It was time that Grandpa said, “Gather round me all the family, Now please bow your head.” “God bless our little family, And America, our land so free. Please make us ever thankful, For everything we can be.” So we all sat down to dinner, And each one in their own way Felt very deeply thankful, On this Thanksgiving Day GOD BLESS US EVERYONE! By Joseph R Bowman 23 November 2006
CommentsWhat is that candles stuff? Has someone hacked into Actnuts?
CommentsThanksgiving is history and most of us need to push away from the pig troff and get back to our diets. Barbra and family are on their way back home and they have the long haul ahead of them. We enjoyed Thanksgiving at the Shipley's. My poem said what I hoped and not what actually happened. But that is what poems are all about. Barbra and family were not at the feast because of a tragedy in the Roberson family. Buddy was too incapacitated too attend any parties. But everyone else was there and we all had a great time. Kurt entertained us as usual. And now we will await Christmas to meet again. As they say in Walmart, Happy Holiday! I still say Merry Christmas for those who have forgotten how to pray. (just kidding) Love, Dad
CommentsDear Family, it was so nice to be with you all during Thanksgiving. I hope we will be thankful all year long. Love from Mama and me. Always, your Dad
CommentsHappy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all have a great day. We all have so much to be thankful for. Although I may be hurting some feelings, I hope that God may bless us all. Love, your Dad
CommentsBuddy goes back to the doctor's to have his staples redone. He has licked them all out of his leg and the gash is terrible. Heather awaits me this morning at 0700. The rest of the morning is interesting. Mama takes me to the dentist to get started on putting a new tooth back in my jaw. Then she turns around and goes to her hearing aid class. Then she comes back to the dentist to await the completion of my dental work. What will happen this Thanksgiving? The Roberson family will have a busy and a very sad time because of the death of Derek's cousin. The funeral may cause them to miss their visit with us. Life is exciting and it shows how fragile life is. When you say goodbye, you never know if you will ever meet again.
CommentsKurt, I posted my memory of the USO show on the guest book. It is on our desk top but not on my lap top. What could be the problem?

CommentsWhat a handsome boy Hunter is. I can remember how he and I walked Buddy together. We looked for fire ant piles. I can remember when Hunter went camping and he sat beside me in the Jeep and Hunter was so covered with dust that he could hardly be recognized. I remember when Hunter caught Buddy with a hook. I remember all the fun we had when Hunter was staying with us. I remember falling in the kitchen while I was holding Hunter the first day he came to be with us. And now he is a big boy and plays football and baseball and he is growing so fast I hardly recognize him. Life is great!
CommentsWe attended the USO show down at FSU last night. It was awesome in every respect. It began with a delicious buffet. We sat with members of the Legacy Toyota team and enjoyed hearing about the new dealership. And then the show began. It was put on by FSU and sponsored by great civic leaders such as Mr Akers. It told the story of WW2 and the shows that the USO put on for our Servicemen and women. There was Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra and even Elvis. The music was great and I remembered every song. However, it was so cold in the circus tent that Nina and I froze our butts off. Oh well, we survived and we all loved the show. What a great night. Thank you Mr Akers for the opportunity to go back through memory lane. It was wonderful to see an audience all fired up and so patriotic. Thank you Kurt, you are a great son even though you get irritated at us from time to time. LOL love, Dad
CommentsBuddy came home from the hospital yesterday. He seriously injured his right rear leg while chasing a tree rat. The vet had to worke hard to repair the damage and from now on, Buddy must be very careful. It will be many weeks before Buddy can get out on the road with me. But it is just good to have him home with me again. He limps around the house and looks a me as though as to say, "What has happened to me?" Buddy and I are gettig old and any strenuous physical activity is getting harder to accomplish. I never thought I would come to this stage in my life. Old age sucks! But when considering the alternative, it is not too bad. Life is still good and being with my wife is the best part of it. Someday you will understand. Love, Dad
CommentsToday was one of the most exciting experiences in my life. We went to see the wolves. The briefing by the woman in charge was one of the best. But, the moment of my life was when a wolf came up to me and I gave him one of Buddy's snacks. The wolf promptly lay down beside me and rolled over, and I gave him a belly rub just as I do to Buddy. That was the moment of mylife. I rubbed the wolf's belly and rumpled his fur and played with his ears just as I do Buddy. Kim, I thank you so much for inviting Mama and me to this wonderful experience. The entire day was fun. We went with the Shipley's and we had a great time laughing and chatting and recalling fun times in our life. Thank you again, Kim. I love you, Your Dad
CommentsWHAT A GREAT DAY! We went with Claude today to see the Veterans Day Parade. Then we went to Po Boys for lunch. Can life get any better? Buddy is zoned out on pills. I took him to pee this morning and he just had to lay down. Poor Buddy! I feel so sad for him. Some would say, he is just a dog. but he is my friend also and I have great compassion for him. God said, if you love your dog, you just may make it in here. Or so I have heard.
CommentsHappy United States Marine Corps birthday! 231 years of outstanding service to our country. Greetings to our United States Marine Corps, Roberson family. Derek, we are proud of you. Semper Fi
CommentsPoor buddy! This morning Darlin decided to go for a swim in our pool. Rascal and Matt watched as she swam a few laps. Another minute and she would have sank. Amber had to blow dry her for a half hour before she stopped shaking. Why do we have pets?????
CommentsBuddy goes next Tuesday for surgery on his right rear leg. Same as before, a torn ligament. (Runnung after tree rats)
CommentsHunter, your football picture is awesome. I hope some day Grandma and I will be able to come see you play. Do you ever play during the daytime? We are too old to be out after dark. I will leave it up to your parents. I hear you are a great fisherman on the golf course. It is cheaper than going out on a fishing boat. I sat in your Vette. What an excellent sport's car. The girls will want you to take them for a ride. I love you. Your Grandpa Joe
CommentsThe long night continues. What will be the result? This is what makes our country great. When it is over, the people will have spoken. The American people are rarely wrong. But from time to time, they are wrong. And when they are wrong, it can be disastrous. But regardless, the United States will survive to live another day. May God Bless America!
CommentsThank you Kurt. I can now bring up my memories. I don't know how you did it but you did. You are outstanding. I love you, your Dad
CommentsHappy birthday Kurt. You are our deareast son and so much of the good times we have had in life has been with you. You have grown in knowledge and stature and you are still on the way up the ladder. I am so proud of you and am humble in your presence. You are what I would be if I could. But I can only stand back to watch you grow. My words are so insignificant and I am unable to tell you how much you mean to me You have all the traits that I admire.Integrity, loyalty, honesty, courage, industrious, a polished communicator in every respect. You have the magnetic personality that draws others to you and yet you are humble enough to accept criticism and assistance by those below you who have practical knowledge. GOD BLESS YOU! Happy birthday and may you have many many more. My love, your Dad
Commentshappy birfday mr kurt!!!!!!!!!!!
CommentsHAPPY BIR5THDAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CommentsHappy birthday brother.Enjoy your day.
CommentsMy Dear Family, one more week to go! Next week at this time, it will all be over (well I hope). We shall either be cheering or sobbing. If the democrats win the election and take over the leadership of the Congress, the course of our Nation will change for the worse. Those who think that all change is good are sadly mistaken. Democrats are completely mislead and cannot and should not be in change of the security of our Nation. To best illustrate the character of the democrat party, I know you have heard that Senator Kerry recently said that (and I paraphrase) “If you go to school and do your home work, you won’t end up in Iraq.” Some are calling for Kerry to apologize to the members of the Armed Forces. However, he does not need to apologize. He is telling us what he really thinks. And he thinks the same as most democrats (liberals) However, rather than taking responsibility for his scandalous words; he is telling us that he was just telling a joke. Not so! He said what he said and now he is now trying to lie out of it. Kerry has not changed from the anti- war liberal that he was during Vietnam. I am writing to you for the last time before the election because I fear what the upcoming mid- term may result in a democrat victory. And I believe that there are still many out there who have not yet made up their mind. I am sure you know that most of the democrats (and liberals of course) you encounter have long ago made up their mind, as have the Republicans. It is the “undecided’s” that will determine the results of the election. As I have said, I think that this election is more important than any other in our lifetime. Imagine if you will the democrats had been in charge of the war back during the Civil War/ What if the present day democrats had been in charge of the war during WW2? This war will take a long long time and it is and will be more difficult than any other war we have fought. The democrats do not understand or believe that there is no substitute for Victory and winning the war against the terrorists will take the rest of your life and perhaps even the lives of your children. So, if you happen to meet a democrat or a liberal in your daily life, be sure to mention the Kerry incident and listen to the liberal spin. Confront the liberals with the facts. But as I have said to you in my last letter, know that liberals will not change their minds because they think with their hearts not their heads. They are just too far gone. They do not know what is going on around them and they are clueless. Have a nice day and Vote Republican. Oh yes, I always add, long live FOX News and Rush Limbaugh. I like to leave a liberal with something to piss them off. Love, your Dad
