Thank you all for the best of my seventy five years. Having you as a family is the best present there is in life. I hope your lives will be filled and blessed with a family like ours. Love always, Dad
Dearest Kurt, I was just reviewing my snapshots and every one is a precious memory of some event in my life. I thank you once more for beginning and maintaining Actnuts. It is one of the best things you have ever done. Today I am seventy five years young. I have had a wonderful life and most of those years were spent with our family. And most of those years, so many of those good times were spent with you. I love you.
It finally happened. I am old enough that I injured myself while I was asleep. I better go to webmd.com and reasearch all my symptoms.
Dear Family, Everyone have a nice weekend. Hope to see you all at Joe's 75th birthday party. It will be rough next week with getting use to the time change. What a dumb thing to do. Love you all. Thanks for you love and support.
Alone. Christy is at the down-town get-down. Amber is at a halloween party. Hunter is at a sleep-over. I am home-alone. I guess it's safe to contact the mothership.
Thank you Kurt and all of the members of The Family. With a cheering section like all of you, we will survive. Thank you for your love and support. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I haven't begun to fight. Love to all, Dad
“It’s not what I can do; It’s what I will do.” - Kyle Maynard (Congenital Amputee that became a wrestling champion) Hang in there mom and dad! You are loved by many and we need you to stay strong. Rely on us! You have as many kids and grandkids as there are in a week. We are alway here for you and will make time for you!
Hunter's game was fun to watch. Christy nearly froze to death. I bought her a cup of warm chocalate but that didn't help. Hunter's team lost but not without a good fight. 7 to 6 was the final score. There is always next year. I loved hearing the coaches after the game. They do such a great job inspiring the kids.
Awesome Job Kids!!!
Half day off today. Basically I was a free taxi service. It will be great when Amber is able to drive herself around. The kids reported great grades on their report cards. Amber=4.3gpa. Hunter=4.0gpa. Where did my kids get their smarts from? Certainly not from me. I'm as dumb as a box of rocks. If it wasn't for my stellar looks I am not sure I would have become so successful. Oh well. I can't have everything. Tomorrow Hunter has his last football game of the season. Thursday Amber will have her regional swim meet. If I don't wake up in the morning know that I love the ones I love. Everyone else...be jealous. Take a look at this.
It was great to see you all today. Sorry we missed Hunter. Kurt, I am totally amazed at the wealth of information you have amassed. No family could have a better record of what goes on in their world. Some day, when we are all gone gone gone, perhaps some one will stumble upon this site and wonder at what happened one day. I will call you our historian. I love you so much.
Rapprochment... What a wonderful word! After a long time of separation, the reuniting of two people has happened. How happy I am to hear that it has finally happened. Don't look back! the past is behind us. Look to the future. How small the world is! We suddenly see that what drove us apart, can be overlooked. All it took was the desire of two people to come together. And what a wonderful happeniung it is to see two people come together and be the friends they once were. See, everything works out for the best. Life is great.
I urge you to scroll back through the pages of time to see what we wrote about life. Actnuts is an historical document. Some day, members of our family yet unborn, may read the lines we scribbled to see what went on before their birth. If you have not said anything, it is your own fault.
Amber I liked seeing your swim meet pictures. Let me know when you swim again I would like to attend.
I am home at last, safe and sound. I used up one more life. Dr Rahangdale told me that if it were not for him and Dr Katopodis, I would be six feet under. I agree with him. Hello hey and howdy to all my friends and well wishers. I love you all and thank you for visiting me in the hospital. Love Dad
Happy Birthday Nina!
Happy Birthday Nina! We love you!
Happy Birthday Christy.
Happy Birthday Christy, Sounds like Kurt is trying to full himself. Hope you are having a nice. I may drop off a gift and card for you but will phone to see when you are going to be home or give me a call and come over. I plan to be home this evening early.
Happy Birthday Christy! I can't believe you are 30 and I will be turning 35! We are getting better with each and every birthday! love ya,
Good night world. Fight tonight dad. We love you and expect you to pull through this with all your strength and courage. Mom rest easy.
Thank you all for making my 50yh Birthday so special. I'll never be 50 again. Thanks all very much. Dad I hope this new round of medications help you feel better. Love you!
Kurt, I just love the pictures and especially the captions. ACTNUTS is the history of our family. It was fun to visit you and Christy yesterday. Your home is so beautiful and confortable. Have a good day. I love you, Dad
Wow Amber and Hunter what an awesome week with your sports! Keep it up!
What a terrible time it was last evening. I have been too ill with URI for almost two months, and so, Mama has been taking Buddy for walks after dinner. Last evening was different from all the rest. I was watching TV and the phone rang. It was Mama and I could tell she was very agitated. She was crying and her voice was quivering. She told me that something terrible had happened to Buddy. I asked her what had happened and she said he must have had a seizure. I asked her where she was and after learning that she was close to the Day Star dead end, in a flash I was in the 4- Runner heading toward Mama and Buddy. As I approached them, I could see that Buddy was in bad shape. He was walking like he was drunk. His legs were not coordinated and he was quivering all over. I got out of the car and when I saw how sick Buddy was, my heart started to pound. It was as bad as when I had left Buddy at Lake Talquin. I tried to lift Buddy to get him in the car but I could not lift his weight. So, I took Buddie's front end and Mama took his rear end. Somehow we managed to get him in the back of the car and we headed back home. I could see Buddy in the rear of the car and he was panting very hard and quivering all over. I did not know what to do because it was too late to take him to the vet up on Thomasville Road. But when we got home, I opened the rear trunk and Buddy jumped down as he does every time. When we all got into the house, I looked at Buddy to see what may have happened. There was nothing untoward. In the meanwhile, Mama called Heather and asked her advice. She told us to watch him and if he had another seizure in the night, she would come to get him the next day and take him to the vet's. Mama said that he had not eaten anything on their walk and she had no clue as to what had happened. And so, I didn't know what could have caused the seizure. Buddy just lay on the carpet at home and he was panting so hard that he looked like he was not going to make it. However, little by little he calmed down. I expect that he had panicked because he knew that he was sick but he could not tell me what was wrong. I had never seen him that ill before and I was worried that he might be dying. My heart was pounding so hard by then that I could feel it and I feared that I might have a heart attack. I took two nitro pills and little by little I improved. All of a sudden, Buddy got up and walked to the front door where he barked like my Bud does when someone was coming. Who was it? why it was Claude come to check on us. He became alarmed when he saw that I had not shut off the lights on the car. He also thought I mght be sleeping in the car or listening to music as I had done before. As time passed, we all calmed down and so Claude left. I kept watching Buddy and I could see that he too had calmed down. The next thing was Nina calling to see how we were. It wasn't long till Nina showed up to be sure we were all OK. What excitement! We all are too old for this crap. I still don't know what had happened to Bud to cause him to be so ill. I may never know. And so life goes on. The Chinese threat is, MAY YOU LIVE IN INTERESTING TIMES. I guess we are living in interesting times for there is never a dull moment. Today, Buddy seems to be OK and I feel better also. All's well that ends well.
It is always a pleasure to pick up Amber. She is so sweet. She is well mannered. She is respectful but very pleasant to talk with. We look forward to more good times with Amber. I want a picture of Amber. Love ya, your Grandpa
If there were GOD, whom would we call on duing love making? duh!
Kurt, your call on the way home is so precious. I can hear you are tired but you still call us. No wonder we love you. Dad
Kurt, the pictures are terriffic. Absolutely spectacular. They are history. A picture is worth a thousand words. Memories.... Already there are members who are missing. They are gone, but not forgotten.
The news at 4 = GM down, Ford down. Toyota for September, the best sales ever. Congratulations Legacy. We are proud of you my son Kurt.
Great pictures! It's nice to check in on the Bowman's and see what y'all are up to. Looks like you are plenty busy. Enjoy your children - they'll be grown in no time.
It is October and this is my month. Cool nights and warm days. The prelude to autumn. The leaves are falling and there is a hint of fall colors. It is always good to get a change of season. I hope that all hurrricanes go to Cuba and strike Fidel a glancing blow. Conor and I watched Power Rangers this morning. He is so much fun to be with and he is trying out his new personality.(That of a three year old).
