The new policy has come about because that terrible event that happened when planes were deliberately flown into the World Trade Centers in New York and into the Pentagon in Washington DC and the plane that was headed for either the Capitol or the White House. As an example, if we had known that the Japanese were about to attack us, even a few hours before the attack, and the USA had launched a preemptive attack against the Japanese, there would have been no Pearl Harbor. I WANT MY KURTTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ADAM Cute Pictures of Conor! Liberalism continued…There is an ancient saying that goes back to Roman times. If you want peace, prepare for war. I warn you, to understand this lesson you must do a lot of study of ancient and current history. Imagine if you will, a small town. In that town there is a bully. He goes around and mistreats all his neighbors. Most of the town looks the other way when the bully comes toward them. However he just speaks so loud and his talk frightens everyone. The bully has ruled everything and everyone in this town, for many years. Everyone is afraid of him. But, no one wants to take action to make the bully behave. Things have gone from bad to worse. The town is full of liberals and they just wring their hands and say, “What can we do? He is so big and strong and he might kill us.” Then, a new family moves into town. After watching the situation in the town the head of the new family decides that he will not put up with the bully and that something drastic must be done. So, the new leader calls a meeting of all the members of the town and the problem is discussed. That night, many people present their side of the problem and the leader listens carefully. The substance goes something like this: Yes, we are all tired of putting up with the bully. But, we are afraid of him and if we decide to go against the bully, we may loose and then he will destroy us. After listening to the members of the town, the leader of the new family decides that action must be taken immediately. In the new leader’s plan, he has included all the members of the town. He decided that although he could take the bully down all by himself but he feels that it is better to get all the members of the town to assist. But, if they will not help, the leader will take action himself. At first, everyone in the town is against taking any action. Fear governs their unwillingness to take action against the bully. But the leader speaks out and explains the severity of the problem. He tells the people of the town how dangerous it is to do nothing. The leader explains his plan to destroy the bully and it sounds so good, that one by one, the people of the town join the leader. In the end, the leader gains support by the majority of the members of the town. At last, action is taken and the bully is thrown out of the town. That is about where we stand today. Our President has decided that the USA must take action against the dictator of Iraq. Problem is, the Democrats, (we can just call them libs,) are against taking any action. They say Iraq is not a problem or that the United Nations should take action. Remember, I told you that liberals are anti- war? Well, that is just another way to identify a liberal. Ever since the end of World War Two, liberals have been against taking decisive military action to erase major world problems. They think with their hearts and not with their brains. They would rather turn their heads away and ignore the problem. Beginning with the Korean police action the libs, have been against taking any action to fight the enemy. During Viet Nam, the liberals were against the war, and although the American Armed Forces never lost a major battle, the Democrats conducted the war in such a wrong headed manner, that in the end, the USA lost the war, Then, after the Americans had turned the war over to the Vietnamese, the Democrats failed to support the South Vietnamese. And in the end, Viet Nam fell to the communists. During the First Gulf War, back in 1991, the Democrats were against the war and in the end the Republican leader, President George H. W. Bush took action, and Saddam was ejected from Kuwait. And the same thing is happening today. George W. Bush, who is the 43rd President of the United States, is opposed by many of the Democrats. But, once more, like the liberals of that town we used as an example, many Democrats are getting on board. And in the end, even most of the Democrats will support our President. But, the Democrats do not support our President because it is the right thing to do. They have done many focus groups and conducted polls and found, to their dismay, that the American people support the President’s decision to bring down Saddam. “I guess I had better go back and bone up on my history.” Said the young man. “What will we discuss next?” The wise old man thought for a while and they he said, “I want you to know why a liberal is a liberal. So, that will be our next lesson.” “Aren’t you afraid that someone will hear what you are saying?” Asked the young man. “No.” Replied the wise old man, “So few people care about the problem that if I shouted, ““The end of the world is at hand!”” “No one would care.” Liberalism continued….. The Founding Fathers recognized the importance of knowledge. And so, they said that an informed electorate was necessary to the survival if a Republican form of government. “What does that mean?” Asked the young man. “That means that “”we the people”” have a duty to search for the facts about current events. Unfortunately if the people show a lack of interest in learning the facts, politicians and a lazy media will bamboozle them. By the way, it is not easy to learn the truth. To get the facts on any subject, it is necessary to read a wide variety of news sources. Today there are so many sources that cover the news that no one can claim that they are uninformed. But, as we can see, many people are just not interested in the news. They do not read newspapers or limit their reading to a source that they agree with. The same goes for television news. Most people are only interested in the fluff in the news. Personal interest stories or sensationalism are the news that sells newspapers or television time. Mention politics or foreign affairs and most people roll their eyes and turn it off. But, lets get back to subject of liberalism.” The young man said, “You mentioned that liberals are hypocrites, but you did not elaborate”. “Yes” the wise old man said, “Liberals are hypocrites.” They are for abortion, which we know is killing the unborn child in the womb. Well, guess what! Liberals are against the death penalty. Libs are against putting criminals to death as punishment for their heinous crimes.” “Why is that?” Asked the young man. “The reason is that liberals feel sorry for the criminals.” Replied the wise old man. “So liberals think that people who commit the most terrible crimes should be kept in prison most of their life. And we the people must pay for their upkeep. Even when the criminal is sentenced to death, it takes twenty to thirty years before the criminal is punished. In the mean while, they languish in jail and get a college education and pump iron to keep up their physical strength.” “That’s stupid!” Said the young man. “I know,” Replied the old man. “But that is how libs think.” Then the old man dropped the boom. “But the conservatives are hypocrites also!” “How so?” asked the young man. “Well, the conservatives are PRO LIFE and so they want to preserve the life of the unborn. However, they believe in the death penalty. So they are just as much a hypocrite as liberals. But, conservatives say that they are pro-life, because an unborn child is not guilty of any crime. The wise old man continued to teach the young man about liberalism. “Another way to determine if a person is a liberal is that they are hypocrites.” “How is that?” the young man said. “The liberals believe in killing unborn babies in the womb. They like to say it is “”PRO CHOICE””. That is, it is the woman’s right to chose. What a bunch of crap. Our laws do not permit a woman to inject themselves with drugs. And so, society has decided there are limits to what we humans can do with our bodies. Our law’s prevent a woman from being a prostitute. Here’s how it all happened. Jane Doe (that’s not her name of course) was pregnant and I suspect she didn’t want to carry her unborn baby to term. Somehow it all ended up in the Supreme Court, and a majority of liberal justices on the Supreme Court decided that Jane had the right to decide to abort her unborn baby. So, Roe v. Wade became the law of the land. Only problem is that it takes two to make a baby, unless of course, some other means fertilizes the woman. So, if the father of the baby (some think it’s just a fetus or a blob) has no say as to whether or not the unborn baby is aborted. When ever some liberal women think their right to abort their unborn babies is threatened, they become absolutely hysterical. There is another procedure called Partial Birth Abortion where the doctor reaches into the birth canal of a woman and turns the unborn baby around so that just the head is protruding, and then inserts a sharp instrument into the base of the baby’s skull and kills it.” “Why do they do such a terrible thing?” Asked the young man. “Well,” said the old man, “ If the baby is completely out of the birth canal, it’s a human being. And, killing a baby then, would be murder. So my young friend, that’s what the liberals stand for. PRO CHOICE is just another term for PRO DEATH.” “But what do conservatives believe?” “ Conservatives believe in just the opposite, which they call PRO LIFE. That means that the woman may not want the baby after it is born but they should deliver it, and then put it up for adoption. After all, there are hundreds of thousands of couples, which want to adopt a child; but are unable, because of one thing or the other. Here’s what the thing comes down to,” said the old man. “Liberals are Pro death and conservatives are pro life. “Get it?” “Seems easy to understand.” Replied the young man. “Gee, why would anyone want to kill their unborn child?”

People who have never listened to RUSH, often denigrate him. RUSH is a conservative and is not ashamed to say that he presents the conservative line. Actually he is the only balance in news reporting.” “So, what is a conservative?” The young man asked. The old man said that in the beginning, a conservative is for a smaller less intrusive government. Conservatives believe that Americans can and should be responsible for their own destiny. Conservatives do not look to government to solve their problems. It is the American way and is why the USA is such a great country. The Founding Fathers were rugged individualists and it was their bold leadership and dogged determination that brought forth the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. And it has been leaders like the Founding Fathers who have forged our nation into the most powerful nation on earth. But, back to RUSH. To know what a conservative thinks and believes, listen to RUSH. One hour will not be enough to understand and appreciate RUSH. He is a weapon of mass instruction. RUSH presents an insight into the news and current events that no one else in the media does. Some people like to compare RUSH to National Public Radio. However, it is like comparing apples to oranges. When you listen to NPR, conservatives can tell that they are listening to the voice of the LEFT. That is, it is the liberal voice of America. Problem is, young man, is that NPR is supported by our tax dollars and it should be a balanced presentation. It is not and there is where the problem is. Again, listening to NPR one time, or even several hours a month will not tell you how liberal NPR is. Since NPR is supported by the government they don’t’ care who or how many listen to their network. So, they can be as liberal as they want and get away with it. But, if you want to get a better insight into the news or current events, listen to Rush at least several hours a week. See for your self. His record of accurate news reporting is 98.5%. When George Bush President # 43, took office, few knew that a new age was being born before their eyes. In short, the son of George HW Bush President # 41, is a Texan and he shoots straight from the hip. No BS. At first he was like all new presidents. He had to acclimate himself to the highest leadership position on earth. But before long, a terrible event happened on 11 September 91. Terrorists flew commercial aircraft into the Twin World Trade Center Towers in NY City. Thousands lost their lives in the dastardly act which nearly dwarfed the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, on 7 December 1941.Then while we watched in horror, another place crashed into the Pentagon and yet another crashed into a field in Schwenksville, Pa. Although it was not declared, the USA was at war. Unlike the Clinton administration, our President told the American people that we were going to hunt down find and destroy the terrorists. As time passed the Armed Forces of the US went to Afghanistan and started the difficult mission of finding and killing the terrorists. What did the Democrats do? Like the preparation for the Gulf War back in 91, the Democrats did everything they could to put up obstacles to what our President was trying to do. Guess what! GW Bush was not the stupid, illiterate moron that the Democrats and the willing media said he was. In fact, the new President looked like he knew what was going on. He did not have a silver tongue and his speeches were hardly the smooth polished rhetoric that slick Willy Clinton used to mesmerize his audience, Nosiree! President Bush spoke like the common man just as President Lincoln had spoken. When our President speaks, he is easily understood. When he says something, we can believe it. He has what the last president never had; that is, CHARACTER. Yes folks, character does matter. By the way, character is what you do when no one is watching. As most students of history know, back when we fought the Gulf War, Saddam the dictator of Iraq was left in power. But as part of the defeat of Saddam, he promised to disarm. In the next decade, Saddam violated 16 mandates of the United Nations. Then one day, our President announced that the USA demanded that Saddam disarm. What did the Democrats do? Just as they have always done, they obfuscated. They put up roadblocks at every point. Democrats were fearful that if they voted for or against the war with Iraq before the election this November, they would be painted as anti- war and they then might loose the election. So the Democrats thought they put our President in a box. They demanded that the President make a case for the war. Moreover, the Democrats demanded that our President first go to the UN and see if the UN would get on board. WOW! George Bush had sucked the Democrats in and he made the case for war and then he went to the UN and told that august group of liberals that Saddam had violated 16 mandates of the UN. And then he said the unspeakable. He said, if the UN didn’t get busy and lead, the USA would take appropriate action. President Bush then said if the UN did not take action, it would be irrelevant. And then our President said that the UN would be just like the League of Nations; they would be just a paper tiger. So, where do we stand today? Many nations around the world are getting on board and even the Democrats are reluctantly getting on board. Not because they want to but because they have done their polls and conducted their focus groups and they have found that the American people support the President. What a caveat! I love it. It is the NO SPIN ZONE of the family web page. Spinners beware! Kurt, the web master is awesome. Now let the serious business begin. No more lovey dovey posts. Tell it like it is. The first few weeks of September have been interesting to say the least. We were all waiting for Conor Thomas Derek to arrive and that was the main topic when we met. Last evening was what families are all about. Everyone showed up to cheer Barbra and Derek on. Even Derek’s parents, Terry, Tom and his sister Amy were on board. The delivery for 4.30 PM was postponed by an emergency C- section. But finally, Barbra went to the OR and it wasn’t long till Derek emerged holding his first-born son. Nina had assisted in the delivery and she was on scene to tell it all, blow by blow. Conor is a big healthy boy and he is as handsome as his father. We watched while the nurses put him through his paces. Our ninth grandchild came in at 22 inches with only Hunter Bowman being taller at birth. Conor weighed in at 9 lbs 15 oz. He has already found his thumb and so he will be a happy baby. Mama and I visited Barbra this morning and she looked radiant after bringing forth such a handsome son. Needless to say, Derek is beaming. And well he should be. Grandparent’s on both sides of the family are pleased as punk and look forward to seeing Conor grow into a fine young man like his big brother, Adam. Mama and I look forward to many long days when we can play with Connor and Barbra goes back to work in the hospital. In short, we are all so lucky.

Most of us are just fish in the sea or the grains of sand on the beach. Fe minute after we pass on no one will remember us. But if you put a microscope on that grain of sand or that fish, you see that no two grains of sand or fish are completely alike. Yet as insignificnt as we are, what we do adds or detracts from the upward ratchetng of history. What does history say about Jesus? nothing, yet he changed the world forever and his simple words have been translated into evey language on earth. What does history say about Lincoln? he cnaged the world also, for if the South had won the war, the USA would not exist as it is today. What does history say about Hitler? Without him the world would have never turned out as it is today. What will history say about Ken lay? probably nothing. But what he did or failed to do made millions of dollars for some and destroyed ENRON. Yet Mr. Lay was just the top of the ENRON pyramid and he did not act in a vacuum. He could not have done it all by himself and he was aided by the willingness of his lieutenants to look the other way. Their combined efforts joined to bring ENRON to its destuction.

What are you? Who are you? What do you believe? What motivates you? What you say and do, define you. Some people would never drive anything but a Toyota. Others would never drive a foreign car under any circumstances. Still others don’t care what they are driving. Ask some people what kind of car they were riding in and they will tell you, it was a “red car”. While those examples are simple, they are not much different than asking what a person believes in. Many people have no firm beliefs. Others are conservative, or tell you that they are. But when you ask them to tell you why, they are unable to tell you why they are conservative. And of course, others are liberal. Then there are those who are in the middle. They are the fence sitters. They go whichever way the wind blows. Ask many what is their philosophy of life? They just look at you, for they have none. They have never thought about what they believe in. Now, in most of life, many people never have to be firm in what they do. However, in combat, when what you say or do can kill you or others. And I would think that in the car business it is not much different. If the general manager makes a mistake it may cost thousands of dollars. The higher up the chain of command you go, your mistakes can end in loosing the battle or the war. And in business, a mistake can destroy the business. It is no different than if the owner of Team Toyota consistently made bad decisions. In either case, everyone suffers. But there are some people who know what they believe in and are able to tell you why. Moreover, they use those principles in everything they do. What a person believes in makes the difference between a CEO who is honest and one who is a crook. What a person believes in, determines whether or not a person is loyal to their family or their job. Look at what happened to the CEO of ENRON. A person who is disloyal to their spouse is not to be trusted. I would never hire a person who is a liar or a cheater. To a soldier, the belief that another person will do what they say they will, is essential. I would not want a person who is disloyal to their spouse in the same foxhole as I am in. To most of us, a philosophy of life begins with their birth. They learn from their parents and they learn from their friends and associates. Amber Bowman is just a child, but already, she is forming a philosophy of life. Not only is she forming what she believes in, but also, she has already demonstrated that she has firm beliefs. So, what you believe about any topic, defines you. If a business slants their earnings to make it look as though they are successful when they are not, then the stockholders will suffer. ENRON is a good example. There have always been dishonest businessmen, and there always will be. But most are honest, or they will not survive. The dishonesty and the fraud and deceit of the last eight years of the Clinton administration influenced not only politicians but businessmen as well. If the President of the United States is disloyal to his family, he will be dishonest to his country. At least that is what I believe. What do you think?

You might find out if that person believes what is said on NPR. A steady diet of NPR may warp the mind. Actually there are many good programs on NPR. The clasical music is the best (at least in Tally, no other stations that carry clasical music) NPR can be very informative when they discuss some things. But when they announce that there is global warming and it is caused by man, and man must go back to bikes and small electrical cars, and not drive SUV's, then NPR has crossed the line. But when NPR disusses politics, they are always on the left. There is no balance. When they tell about the news, NPR always slips in the liberal line.So, it is OK to listen to NPR as long as one knows from which direction it is coming from and as long as one gets the other side of the news.Where can one get the other side? Not many news programs are balanced. FOX is the only TV network that is balanced.

I listen to NPR every morning on the way to work.
I urge everyone to listen to National Public Radio at least some time every week. I am fortunate in that I can listen at my leisure. I usually listen while Buddy and I take our morning walk. And of course I like to listen to NPR after an important event. Why? Because I want to constantly remind myself that NPR is the voice of the enemy. You can bet that they will take the opposite view from what I hold dear to my heart. In the many years that I have been listening to NPR, it has changed so drastically in the area of politics, that too much of it, will make me ill. NPR is so biased on the side of the left that I wonder how it stays on the air. Of course it does because it has to please no one. And our tax dollars go to support it. If I had my way, I would make NPR depend upon commercial sponsors rather than government subsidy. If even one dollar of my taxes goes to support NPR, I oppose it. But I guess that will never be and so it just gets more biased year after year. NPR appeals to kooks, fags, minorities, Democrats, left wingers and environmentalists. I have found that every opinion I have, will be different from what they say on NPR. In short, if one listens exclusively to NPR, I fear they will be so ill informed that they are ignorant and not worth conversing with. I can immediately identify the liberal Democrat leanings of any person, by asking a person if they regularly listen to NPR. That tells it all.
The events of yesterday, were a sobering, mind-chilling experience as the Nation mourned the first year remembrance of the 911 terrorist attacks. Watching the color guard, followed by the pipe bands, march into the pit, was a sight to make one cry. As the ceremony progressed, we watched the events at GROUND ZERO, The Pentagon and at Schwenksville in Pennsylvania. The President was at each ceremony and he mourned with the families that lost loved ones in the terrorism attack. What a sincere display of emotion, after the phony lip- biting of Clinton. We were glued to the TV and watched the ceremonies throughout the day. Then at dinnertime, Barbra, Nina and Erik came over for a delicious meal of grouper. Our dinner was great and Mama did her best on each course. Today (Thursday) we decided to go to Panacea and eat lunch at the Costal Restaurant. On our way, we listened on NPR, to the President address the UN. President Bush laid it all out for the world to see. Iraq is the target for attack. How could anyone doubt that Saddam is a threat to world peace? The President addressed the members of the UN and it is ironic that many who listened today, were no better than Saddam. Dictators govern many countries, which are members of the UN, and they treat their citizens the same way that Saddam does. Of course Koffe Annam the Secretary General of the UN warned the US that we had better not go it alone. What a two faced man, he needs to first accuse the members of the Security Council, like China and North Korea. Well, prior to the world wars in the past, many countries were against taking preemptive action until it was too late. But, if we had had a President like George Bush, before World War Two, Hitler might have been stopped before he involved the world in war. As we listened to our Presidents’ speech, the thought struck me that George Bush is not a good public speaker. He sounds like just an ordinary citizen. He is not a silver-tongued orator like Clinton was. But, George Bush is a great speaker in the homespun manner of Abraham Lincoln. Our President speaks like a common man, and so, he is easy to understand. He is sincere. He speaks directly without any nuisances. And everyone knows that he is telling us the truth. Now we shall see if the UN goes along with the USA. And one by one, the nations around the world are coming on board. They wanted to see if we meant what we said and not just shooting off our mouth. And of course, we will have to see if the Democrats will support our President. They had all better get on board, for sooner, rather than later, we will attack Iraq. In November, the weather in the Middle East turns bad and if we wait much longer it will not go well for us. Postponing action is the worst thing the USA can do. STRIKE WHILE THE IRON IS HOT!

Today is the day. One year since that fateful day. Nine eleven...a day that will live forever in the memories of millions of Amerians. What will hitory books say about us in a hundred years? A thousand years? Was this our finest hour? Will this dastardly act even be mentioned in the history of the Ameran people? How soon our memories fade. How soon the passion cools. From early this morning, we have been watching the news. There are ceremonies markng the occasion in New York at GOUND ZERO and at the Pentagon and at Shanksville. There are speeches and great words, and tears and flags. But tomorrow, most Americans will have to return to work and their mundane lives. And as time goes by, the memory of this day will fade, just as all of the other days in our life. So, how can we mark this day ouselves? First, I beleve we must live our lives as we have done from the beginning of our life. Work, play, be with those we love. And if anything, take note of how we treat our family. When you leave for work, be sure your spouse and your children know that you love them. For one day many went off to work, thinking that they would return at the end of the day, and, they never came back. And if you remember anything, know that freedom is not free. It must be paid for with the blood of heroes. I love all of you, Dad

A new week begns. This week will be the anniversary of 911. Will we ever forget what happened that day? I guess most have already. Life goes on and we must solve our own probems one at a time. Only those who lost some one that fateful day must pause to remember. We speak of closure. But if you loose someone you love, there is no closure. Then you go to bed at night and there is lonelyness beside you. When you get up, you are alone. And when you come home at the end of the day, from where ever, there is no one to say, I love you to. One day we will all have to face that time... for there are few couples who die in bed together. Someone departs forever and someone survives. If that is what you want to call it. Til that time, live each day as though it were your last. And some day, it will be.

Another great day. Buddy and I went out to Lake Talquin and just enjoyed the lake. We took the boat up in to the Oclocknee River and saw many gators. Autumn is here and there are subtle changes in the air. Fall is one of my favorite times. When I was a young man, I lived in the north and the changes in the forest was the most pleasant things to see. Hard wood makes red and gold leaves and it was fun to walk through the forest and kick up the leaves. The geese begin their long flight south and the Susquehanna River was filled with the big birds. As the days grew shorter, the nights were cool and then one mornng, I would wake up and there would be frost on the roof tops. Autumn here in Tallahassee is much differet, but still there is a change in the air. We do have some color here in the south but most everything is green throughout the year. In a few more days it will be the rememberance of 911. That was a day that will live in infamy. Will anyone ever forget that terrible day? Or have they already forgotten? Hardly anyone flies a flag on their car any more. Where is the rage? Those who lost loved ones on that frightful day, will never forget. I love you all,Dad
