Kurt, do you ever wonder if you are living in anoher world from that of most ordinary people? If so, that is how I felt many times in my life. At first I was scarred for I thought life was passing me by. Your Mama was raising the kids. She was paying the bills and running the family. I wondered if it was worth it. Well, after a while, that feeling turned into a feelng of prde. For I was providing a valuable service to my country and my family. Because of me, my family could do things that others could not do. And I knew that my wife was doing the very best job that could be done. She raised four great children and look what they have turned out to be. So, now after many years of being a stranger, I am with my wife 24/7 and I love it. Our kids are close by and life could not be better. So, I guess I am rationalizing, but, I feel that what I did was right and I am proud to say that I did what I did because someone had to do it. What do you think? I love you and am so proud of you...Your old Dad
Another week over. Another month is on the horizon. Does anyone remember 911? There are few flags showing on cars and houses. Where is the anger? Have we forgotten so soon, or do we Americans just have a short attention span? It's a dangerous world out there and there are plenty of people all over the world who hate our guts and would kill us in a heartbeat. What will September bring? A new Roberson, we hope! Barbra we ae all pulling for you. Have a good weekend and a nice Labor Day. I guess Kurt will be holding down the fort at Team Toyota. Sleep well and stay dry.
kurt misses his family and is slowly going insane at the tent sale. please come help him.

Wouldn't it be great if our ancestors had a site such as Actnuts to record their daily activities..their thoughts, their observations of life? But all we know of them is that they lived, and because they did, we live. We take so much for granted. We have so much. We are so rich. How often we take wihout giving. The most precious things we have are free. The air, the sunshine. How simple the good things are. Mama and I have been so many places and seen so much but it is nothing compared to what our ancestors went through. Imagine leaving your home forever, with only those things you can carry. Imagine going to a new land where you knew no one and did not speak their language. Imagine the first Bauman's arriving in America. There was no United States then ad the country was still a wildernes. And then moving into that wilderness where there was constant danger and having to clear the land and make a new life for their families. And now, here we are in the best country in the world and living close to eachother and having the pleasure of our family within a few miles from us. How wonderful life is and how thankful we are to be alive and in relatively good health. Soon I will be 72 years old. My Dad was born in 1892 and he died in 1964, He was 72years old when he died and for 13 years before his death he was an invalid who never spoke a word. I am so lucky and I know it. Thank you all for being our faimly. Thank you Kurt for providing this web site.
I'm glad you happy mom! Long live actnuts!
Kurt, thank you for the CD with the anniversary pictures on it. I am delighted. I took it to Walmart yesterday and they have a macine now that printed them all out in a few minutes for a mineral fee. Most of good some are cute and some are funny. I am having a good time with them nd finding a place in the memory book. I am a happy Mama, thanks to all our family.
This is like speaking to an empty room. I guess the rest are too busy to post their thoughts and happenings. Its good that Mama and I are able to rcord history in he making. Oh well.
Kurt, thanks for the CD. I will see whatI can do with them. I will start with going to WalMart or Kinko's. Our printer does not print out a clear copy. Does yours? I am having fun putting items n the memory book. I love our family.
Kurt, I would like a copy of all the photos you have on actnuts. You figure out how I can get them. Is there a copy to take to Walmart for copies or is there a way I can more than one together. You may need to phone me on this so we can understand each other. thank you.
Dear Family, What an awesome evening. What a great family. It was perfect from the beginning to the end. We sure feel that we are loved and appreciated. Life could not be any better. I was a little un-realistic in my thinking as I just knew that all of you would be inside the Limo. That would have been a large vehicle. It was great to have the grand-children there and they made us feel welcomed to join them with their greeting. Such fun. It was the first Limo ride for all of us except Amber. The evening only got better with the company of all of you, the good food and the gift of the book for all our memories and photos and what ever else I will have to put in it. You did a great job and we love the pictures and the great words that everyone wrote on a page to go into the book. Many many thanks and with luck we will have a 55 anniversary and than a 60 anniversary. My love to you all.
Great pictures! What a wonderful golden anniversary celebration. all of you made the occasion a memorable one for Mama and me. From the limo pick up with the grandchildren inside, to the delicious dinner, to the family picture album, to the good words and kind wishes,it was one of the very nicest times in our lives. All of you deserve praise. Amber, we loved your poem and your delivery was great. May we always be as close as we were last night. We love you and hope that some day you will be able to celebrate your golden anniversary. We won't be there for that one due to a previous engagement, But we will be looking down on you from above and you will know that we love you.
im glag you like my poem.thank you. and yes grandpa i will recite the poem. see you tomorrow love you grandma and grandpa amber
Amber,We loved your poem commerating our fiftieth wedding anniversary. You have a real talent and I hope that you continue to compose poems. Nothing s nicer than a poem, for it will always be remembered.I am asking you to recite your poem for our anniversary party. Love GP
Dear Family, Thank you for all your greetings and phone calls yesterday. You are a great family and we love you one and all. We loved your poem Amber. You did a good job. I have printed it and will put it in our memory book. Not every one can write a poem so that makes you a special person. Thanks once again , dear famkly. We had a great day yesterday which included driving to Panace and having a seafood dinner at Coastal's and also driving to Carabelle and sittin on the beach to watch the sunset. Life is good. Thanks.
HAPPY 50TH DAD AND MOM!!!!!ENJOY THE DAY!!!!!
grandma and grandpa do you like my poem. It was hard figuring out which word rymed with another word. love you guys AMBER
Happy 50th Mom and Dad. Your leadership example in marriage is celebrated! Thank you for being you, one unit, under which nothing can seperate. Have a wonderful day and may you live to be 200!
Dearest Amber, Thank you for your good wishes. My operation went OK and I have no pain today. A good day is one without pain.I am glad you have good teachers. This year, like all the others, is the most important in your education. Everything builds upon what you leaned last ear. So, study hard, ask for more homework and when there is none, find something to do to learn more. If you don't like math, go to the internet and look up math and find math problems to do. Math takes prctice and the more you practice, the more you will get it. We don't like the things we do not understand... so the way to like math is to master it. I love you Amber, you are my granddaughter.
I am glad to hear that all the Grandkids are off to a good start on the new school year. I sounds like it will bea greatyear for all of us. I think it will good fast as I alao seem to have many things I want to do in the next months and the year. Hope I get to be older is one of my wishes. All continue to do good in school and check in with us from time to time so we know how everyone is. Love and Hugs.
Thank you all for your concern on my surgery. Your visits and calls made the day better. Stay out of the sun of you love yourself and if you love your kids, keep them from ending up like me. I look like I've been in combat.I hope doctor Ford got all the cancer.
hey grandma and grandpa. my first day of school was great.i met up with all my friends again their was so much to talk about and i had fun telling them about my summer.ive had no homework so far but i know that will change mabey by tomorrow.ill be up late doing homework again.all my teachers are very nice and i love my math teacher.and thats good cause i dont like math that much.im glad your cancers been taken care of.
Let me be one of the first to write on the new page. Ia few more days your mama and I will have ben married fifty years. Not many make it that far. But, if you do your homework and stay out of trouble, it is possible. Kurt came to see me this morning before I got awake. Now, that was great. But I wasn't ready to get up so I went back to sleep. This is the first day of school and one by one the grandchildren are reporting in. Adam reported that Chiles is a great big school and he likes all his teachers. He has homework already. Good! you learn just as much with home study as you do in the class room. Well, that is you SHOULD learn more. Sarah loves her school and is looking forward to a good year. Mark said all his teachers seem to be intelligent... so he is off to a good start. No one else has talked with us so we can only hope they had a good frist day.
I WANT MY MA MAAAAA!!!! AAAA!!!! ; I WANT MY MA MAAAAA A A A A AAAAA!!!. PICAME LOS HUEVOS.
Hi everyone. I have moved all the recent guestbook entries into the huge file of all the other guestbook entries. Thanks for all the activity over the years. If I were to print out all the entries it would be 243 pages long!
Art and Jill? What memories that post brings back to me. How many years since we saw thm? What a different world it was then? Yes, when did we all get old? (older) What a simpler life we had. If only we had known about the future. Could we have held back the dawn? changed history? or would we have been as innocent as we were? Thank goodness no one has a cristal ball.
Great to talk to you yesterday - Jill & I enjoyed seeing the website and pictures of everybody. When did you get old? The work picture scared me.:)I must REALLY be old. Art (& Jill,of course) Call me...
How true. If you are unable to laugh, yes to laugh at yourself, then you are too serious. Get a life. Enjoy the little things. The best things in life are free. There are clubs in Italy where you can go and participate in group laughing. Ho HO HO.Ha Ha Ha Try it yourself. You don't need a reason. Just do it!
Erik came to visit us tonight. It was nice to chat with him. Barbra visited us also. She looks so pretty with her new hair cut. What beautiful children we have made. How lucky we are to have such great kids. We are proud to be their parents.
Kurt, Great picture. It was like being there our selves. I am glad you had a good time.
Kurt, take it easy coming home. There are nutty drivers out there
KURT WE MISS YOU !!!!! I HOPE YOU SPENT QUALITY TIME WITH THE WIFEY AND KIDS BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT GETTING A DAY OFF FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christy, Kurt, Amber and Hunter. We all are looking out the window to see you heading south. I hope you all had a good vacation in the mountains.
MUST BE NICE TO BE ON VACATION ARE YOU PETING YOUR PUPPY? YET?
Christy, Kurt, Stay out of the sun and keep your kids covered. Cancer is no fun. A tan is not cool.
Kurt, Christy, Amber and Hunter…Have a good day today.
Kurt, it was great visiting with you on Monday morning. Mama and I hope you will relax while on vacation and that you will return to us, rested.
i haate kurt for so many reasons 1) your on vacation 2) you hurt my arm 3) your on vacation 4) you are not here to mess with 5) your on vacation 6) your on vacation 7) you drew blood on my arm 8) your on vacation
Have a great week on vacation, Kurt, Christy, Amber and Hunter. We will be waiting for your return. Love you all. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you while you are gone. Be in touch.
Kurt has a point in how to protect our children. But we are all human and often slip up. When we turn our back kids are quick to head for the hole in the road. So what is the answer? Never give up! If you do your job, your kids may dislike you for a while, but whenthey growup, they will praise you and tell their kids how tough their prents were.
Some say that parents are unable to oversee their children. But, if you look closely at each case, there was big mistake made either by the kids or by their parents. The recent case where two girls were taken from a desolate place known as lovers lane. When parents abdicate their responsibiliy as supervisors of their children, then, accidents are bound to happen. Since Mama and I have had about forty five years of parenting experience, we know that our kids often did things that we did not approve of. When we knew it, and often we did, and we let it slide, and did not take proper action, disasters did happen. I repeat... the most important duty a parent has is to protect their children...from all harms. So, a lesson to the wise should be sufficient. Parenting is a 24/7 responsibility. Do yo know where your childrn are? Who are their friends? How often do you ask searching questions? like, where are you going? when when are you coming home? I need a phone number, and I will call you to make sure you are where you say you are. Your kids may not like you for being so intrusive into their lives, but so what; you've done your job. etc. Better to be safe than sorry! Let me now what you think.
Fun to see you in the rain yesterday Kurt. You are a good son and we do love you. Thanks for all your help and thoughfulness. Boy I did get wet coming out of super-Walmart while the storm was going on. It was sorta fun getting so wet but i did feel chilly in the car. Hope to see you this weekend to give you all a hug before you leave on vacation. Christy, Kurt, Amber and Hunter. Hope you have a great vacation with lots of fun and seeing lot of things. We will be thinking of you all and waiting for your return. Let us know if we can do anything while you are gone. I do not have a key to your new house so get me one if you want me to have a key. Love and hugs.
Kurt, thanks for all the help on the car. It was fun seeing you last night, if even for a short time. We loved the Highlander. It is wonderful to have an airconditioned home once more. I loved reading the achives for former August's. Actnuts is a great idea and I just wish that others would add their thoughts and experiences. Some never add their comments. Oh well, We like it. Life is great!
I am glad Mama and Dad have A/c again and that it was a simple fix and not an expensive compressor. Enjoy the coolness. Love you!
Kurt, great thought for the day. I like the one that says, Most people learn from their own mistakes, but the smart man learns from the mistakes of oters. It was nice to visit with you last evening. Sorry we could not offer air conditioning.
Forget the goo old days Give me all the comforts known to man. I hope the a/c people show up today. Oh, I did not suffer last night butthe noise of the fan was annoying and missed having Joe in bed. He went camping on the back porch.I am sure we will mind the heat more when we are up and about. Oh well, this is life. Think cool. Great to see you last evening Kurt. Have a great week in the mountians and with Christy and the Kids
