Amber's speech
- 7:59pm Check out this speech that Amber has written to say at school tomorrow. Warning! What you are about to read is graphic in nature. Due to the content parental guidance is suggested. Read it.

Success - 8:50pm Amber did very well with her speech today. She made it to finals. Tomorrow will determine if she says her speech in front of the entire school. She also is the only one in her math class to have an 'A'. I got off work today at noon and was able to take the kids to dinner while Christy had cheerleading practice. We ate at Beef O'Brady's. I then watched Hunter at Karate. Meanwhile, Nanny Trisha is getting acquainted with being retired. By the way, I have updated a few sites. You can see the changes at Sarah's, Lauren's, Trisha's, Steve's and Joe's sites. I am going to try to update this site in the mornings instead of night. That way the dates will jive. Any questions? Use the guest book for comments or suggestions.

Morning updates - 5:34am The plan is to write the news section each morning. If you missed the news from January 4th simply visit the News Vault link at the top of this page. Good luck to Amber today as she tries to outdo everybody with her speech. I know she can do it. Hunter operated his mini-bike yesterday for about 15 minutes. This is an awful time of day! Yawn! Look for daily updates and have a great day.

Ladies and Gentleman, introducing the champion - 5:58am Amber won the speech contest! She will give her speech in front of the entire school next Wednesday. She is proud of herself and of course we are proud of her. What a girl! Last night she went to watch the Tiger Sharks with her friend Katie. The cameras caught her and Katie dancing to the music. Much to their surprise they played it back to the crowd on the huge screen TV in slow motion no less! Hunter was kind of out of sorts last night. I think he was angry that Amber was out having fun. We did go to the mall tonight. We ran into Sarah and Adam. Sarah showed us the great job she did on her pottery. Be sure to add your favorite websites to the above form and I will post them on the links page under your name.

Notable Barbra came for a visit tonight. Her hair looks great. I should of taken a picture! I'm pretty sleepy so I will blame my tiredness on my lack of foresight. Time for bed. I am looking forward to a restful day tomorrow. Thanks Christy for filling out the favorite website form. How about the rest of you? I know you are visiting. I am able to capture every person's address that visits actnuts. If you are interested in seeing what the logs look like click here for a sample. I can tell who visits and where they click. Come on, leave me your favorite sites. Bye Bye now.

Will Rogers - 5:56am Claude emailed some great quotes from Will Rogers. People used to be smarter I suspect. Anyway, I found a few more quotes from Mr. Rogers. Click here to learn from the past. I am off tomorrow. I can't wait to see Amber make her speech. Last night Christy tried to convince her to wear a dress. Christy lost. Christy and the kids are going to spend Saturday night in Pensacola for the meet. Nanny will join them. I guess I will stay home and party, party, party.

Speech day - 7:06am Seems like Amber is in the spotlight today. Her speech is at 9am. Christy and I will be attending as well as Grandma and Grandpa. She won at the classroom level and now is competing with the other classes. The winner gets one million dollars. Actually, that may not be entirely true. She received a letter from the middle school we are zoned for informing her that she is eligible for a program they offer. It is called the Technology Magnet Program. This is offered because she is in the upper quartile of her class! Good job Amber.

Happy Birthday Amber! - 5:06am We
love you so much little bunny girl! I can remember holding you
in my lap staring at you in disbelief. Eleven years later and I
am still in disbelief! How you have changed! Take a look
at these pictures of my
little baby girl. Amber didn't place at her speech
contest. If you ask me the whole thing was fixed. She did
very well. For her birthday, Amber requested that I download a
few songs by Aqua and to burn them
on a compact disc for her. In other news, I took Hunter to
Kenpo last night. He has been in Kenpo
for nearly a year now. He has really improved. I can
remember his first class! Birthdays make me reflect on how fast
time flies. I don't recall time going by so fast before I had
children. Parents, love your children and enjoy them while they
remain small enough to beat! Check out this cute picture of Hunter
and Rascal while you're still here.

Third stripe earned! - 9:06am Yesterday with expert spinning back kicks Hunter has proven himself. Now he begins training for the esteemed purple belt. The belt exam is a month away. We are proud of you Hunter. Poor directions foul the gymnastic trip - 9:43am Apparently the directions I gave Christy took her to downtown Pensacola which is about an hour out of the way from where she was supposed to go. Woops! Now that I have made my first little mistake of the year I can move on to bigger and better mistakes. They eventually found the hotel. Christy called and cursed me unmercifully for two minutes straight. I deserve it. I haven't heard from them regarding Amber's meet results. This could be my punishment.

Pensacola Gymnastic Meet - 5:06am Amber
placed 3rd overall and made state! She was very pleased with her
performance. She will compete in April at state level. I
will take that Saturday in April off so that I can drive her down to
the meet in Tampa. Unfortunately the competition falls on the
same day that Kerri gets married. Since Christy is in Kerri's
wedding she may not be able to go. Click the picture or here
to see more Pensacola pictures. Nanny, thanks for going with
Christy.

Tooth Fairy Haven - 6:19am Amber had her teeth removed. They're in her mouth no more. Three is a lot to take at once. Thank God it wasn't four! My girl Amber she did cry! She did cry in pa-ain. But Christy took good care of her...without going insane! O.K. enough of the sing song, song sings thing. Poor Christy dealt with all the trauma. This episode began at one this afternoon. To make her evening exciting, Amber developed stomach cramps that lasted 5 or more hours. At one point she begged to be dragged out back and shot in the head. Instead, we gave her a Tums and put her in bed. Hunter is an absolute champion on the mini bike now. He takes turns at high speeds! Our front yard will never be the same. I'm off today! Can you say AMEN!

Beer emotions run rampant
- 5:07am Last night I drank a few beers. Plus, I had enlightened conversation. The two seem to combine in a unique way. I am so in love with the human animal. We are such special beings. Complex! Why? A creature capable of creating beer. The word creature comes from the word created. We are creatures. We were created. By our mother and father. I'm not telling you anything new. From our parents we come. And so we are. Nothing more. Nothing more? We are so much more than we think we are. We are divine. And yet we are so imperfect. We are evolved and yet so primitive. I doubt that man has changed at all in the last 10,000 years. Only our tools have changed. We are still filled with fear, distrust, jealousy, envy and confusion. We still crave attention, affection, intimacy and praise. Our ancestors sought the same exact thing as we do today. I'm sure of it. One more thing. Dictionary.com defines love as a deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. There are actually 9 entries for the word love. I truly believe that love is indescribable. The word doesn't belong in the dictionary. The depth of its meaning boggles the mind. Make this day special. Look at the ones you care for. Don't tell them you love them. Show them. Overwhelm them. On second thought, that may scare the hell out of them. Never mind.

The kids progress reports are awesome. To what is this owed? D.N.A.? More like Christy. She makes me feel so secure that our children will succeed in school. Are kids are true champions academically. With Christy there is no other choice. They will succeed. They will do their best. I will never meet another person more determined than my wife. She can focus so intently on the task at hand. She gives her all to assist our kids with accomplishing their duties. It's damn scary. Sometimes it looks so haphazard. And yet when it's time to rhyme everything falls in place. Christy, I love you! See the above definition! Good job kids! Keep following your mothers guidance and you will never go wrong. My role is slowing falling into place. I'm the guy that occasionally wrestles and jokes around with the kids. I happen to be the same guy that is capable of tormenting the hell out of his children's mother. Side note: I wonder how many people actually read through this whole news post. If you have, add your thoughts to the guest book. Dig deep and let it all hang out. I have given you my heartfelt thoughts. Your turn. Be brave. |

Reunited! - 7:17am Nichole Zylick is in Tallahassee to visit Barbra for the weekend. It's hard to believe that high school was 18 years ago! My first memory of Nichole was when I saw her in the school cafeteria. Several dozen boys had manly thoughts for the first time on that day. Of course, I had been having those thoughts since 5th grade or so. In any event, she became good friends with Barbra. Thank you Barbra for having such great friends! My life too was touched by Nichole. Last night, Christy joined them for an evening of dinner, conversation and whatever else kept them out late. I took the kids to see 'Cast Away'. I think they enjoyed it. They both picked up some important messages from the flick. Tonight Amber has 5 little girls spending the night to celebrate her 11th birthday. God Help Us!

skated with their friends for a couple of hours. We saw Sarah
there as well. Click the image to see a few poorly lit

January 21 Amber's Birthday Sleep Over - 7:17am Five
little girls slept over with Amber last night. The noise level
was equivalent to stampeding buffalo. Our house may never be the
same. All in all, the damage was under thirty thousand dollars.

Nanny's retirement bash - 6:17am Last
night we attended a retirement party celebrating a special
retirement. Nanny worked for the state of Florida for 30 years
and 7 months! Congratulations! The party was hosted by
their neighbors Larry and Mary Jo Trodd. The neighborhood they
live in is so unique. Everyone has been friends forever and seem
to share a bunch of common interests. Take a peek at the rest of
the pictures here.

Day Off - 9:02am Here I am. What should I do? Lots to be done. I'd rather have fun. So while I do the things that I must, I'll try and remember that life is to lust. And lust I will after things that are fun. Why walk when I can run? Why frown when I can smile? Show my teeth like a crocodile. Join me now. Won't you try! Live your life. I'll show you how. Show your teeth like a crocodile. Now! |

Ho Hum - 5:52am I must still be asleep. I'm not sure what to say. Surely there is something newsworthy or notable to remark about. Maybe not. I could still be in bed but I'm not. Our electric bill was $448! That's about $120 more than usual. It does seem like our air conditioner runs non-stop. We even try to turn it off while we are gone during the day. Oh well! Crank it up! |

Shop Early - 6:04am For lack of anything better to write about I feel the need to mention that Christmas is only eleven months away. It is hard to believe that last Christmas was a month ago. I think that was my last day off as well. So much can happen in the next eleven months. This may be the best time to buy that special gift for that special somebody. Shop while you have the means. Shop while you are alive. Remember, label your wrapped gifts. As for me, I will wait until December 20th to start my shopping. Why break tradition. I plan on doing something nutty for lunch today so that I will have something to write about tomorrow morning. This is ridiculous. |

Nina on her way! - 6:24am She won't be here long this time but she is getting things in order to make Tallahassee her home. I'm sure her interview will go well. I updated several things on this site last night. I won't give you any clues as to what, however. In response to your guest book message Barbra, Adam's hockey picture has been on his page for the last few weeks! Please feel free to borrow the camera so that we can put more on. |

Changes - 6:24am Many things will change over the next few months. Nina, Claude and Mark are moving to Tallahassee. Nina has accepted a job at the hospital working in the same place as Barbra. They will move into their new home soon after she starts work. What all will occur with these changes? No one truly knows. It is so exciting! Sometimes change is difficult. The Shipley's have moved dozens of times in their lives it seems. This move will be different from all the rest. I imagine Claude is going through weird feelings. Time to toast and celebrate. One sure thing about change. You can always count on it. |

What's new? - 5:22am The month is almost over. We have in our possession the photo albums that Grandma has compiled for Amber and Hunter. Thank you so much. That took lots of love and attention. I am going to go through them and add them to their web pages. Have a great day everyone. |

Where has the month gone? - 6:22am How did that happen? Ok. Let it go. There is only the future to think about. February is an important month. Valentines Day! See you all on the flip side.

| Where are you all?
Has the winter frozen your fingers and your minds? A few, contribute
all the time to the Family web page. While others never appear. What
is wrong? Your contributions are needed. A family only survives when
every member participates. Tell us what you are doing. Believe me, we
all would be happy to see what's going on in your lives. Kurt has
provided us with a wonderful vehicle to get involved. Remember, my
note to you, some time ago, asking that everyone get more
"involved." That means even the grandchildren. They become
involved by being involved. Each of them is doing things that we all
are interested in. Now, we guess that "young adults" and
teenagers are reluctant to reveal the intricate workings of their
lives. But if the parents do not contribute anything, how can the
grandchildren participate. Set the example. Help! this web page is a
wonder to outsiders. Come on, get in.. the water is fine. Participate
and have fun. Love, Dad 2001-01-29 12:40:25, Dad |

Thanks for inviting me into your warm and loving family last weekend.
I had a terrific time - not so much the activities we did - but
spending time with you all. I felt like a new person when I came back

yourselves for the wonderful family you have created. Looking forward
to my next visit...Love Nichole 2001-01-24 12:11:15, Nichole Dyer |
| January is always a
calm month of seems so after the excitement of all the Holidays in the
Fall. It is a good month to think of all the past events, clean off
ones desk and whatever else needs cleaned out. AND time to think about
all the events that can and will happen in the New Year. That is what
I am trying to do. Love to all 2001-01-24 09:54:02, Mama Bea |

| Mark, Let me sum up
my point on human divinity...We created beer. It's the perfect food. 2001-01-20 21:30:07, your webmaster divine, Kurt |
| Kurt the ball is in
your court. I will be interested to see your response to MJ's comment
on your philosophy 2001-01-20 20:25:17, Dad |
| this is in response
to what Kurt said on Jan 18. I agree with you Kurt that man is flawed
and primitive but I disagree that we are divine. People try to separate
man from beast because animals are filthy and do not behave
"civilized". People believe themselves better then animals
because people can build themselves homes. So do apes. They build
little areas in the forest where they live together. People say only
humans have abstract thought. So do chimpanzees. If you hang a banana
from the ceiling and leave several large blocks on the ground the chimp
will stack the boxes and get the banana. Humans are not so much
superior then animals but more or less different. Social vertebrate animals jockey for position in the clan. So do humans but they do it
on a grander scale and in a more complex way. Animals fight but one
backs down. Humans play to win. I am of course referring to war.
Animals have rules of society just as humans do. Those rules are
simple. In fact they are the exact rules of bushido and chivalry. Of
course the human animal is superior to other creatures from an
evolutionary stand point but humans are still animals and they are
just as dirty and disgusting as any monster that could be pulled out
of the jungles of Africa. Write me if you want to debate this. 2001-01-20 16:58:51, mark |
| Dear Family, Plan to
come to our home Saturday(26th) evening to visit with Nina and to
enjoy food, drinks and birthday cake. We will also celebrate Amber's
and Lauren's January birthdays. Hope to see you all by 5 a.m. We love
you 2001-01-20 10:39:03, Mama and Dad |
| Mama and I enjoyed
our visit with Nichole. She and Barbra came to dinner and we had a
great time recalling the good old days in Mt Holly. Nichole looks
beautiful and she is just as fun as she ever was. Come back to visit
us often, Nichole. You always have a place in our home 2001-01-20 07:46:04, Dad |
| Today is an historic
day! At noon today, we will have a new president. There were no shots
fired. One party did not rise up to overthrow the other. It will be a
peaceful takeover. But there are 1/4th of the people who think the
election was stolen. They are so unhappy that some say they will never
vote again. Then there are 1/4th of the people who are happy that
George Bush will be our new president. And then there are the
disenfranchised. Half of the people did not vote. They never got the
picture. They could not make up their mind. They did not like either
candidate. They are the middle of the roaders. They are the confused
ones. But, our president will be their president also. And so, this
great wonderful country with so many different people and so many
complex problems will shift gears. The past eight years of corruption
and scandal and sleaziness will change. What will the future bring?
What ever happens, it will affect all of us. For good or for bad. But,
our family will stay the same. All for one and one for all. It is great
to be an American! GOD BLESS AMERICA! 2001-01-19 06:50:59, Dad |
| Great job on the
report card Adam. Keep it up Love Mom 2001-01-18 15:56:20, |
| Well put Kurt. From
a very young age I was taught that Family is the only one you can
depend on through thick and thin and sometimes I doubted that fact but
after years of experience I came to believe it and embrace that idea
and in turn I told my sons the very same thing. They also believe it.
ONe day you meet a person and you know with your heart they are family
and you can depend on them in good times and in bad. Hopefully you
marry that person and they become your soul mate. I believe we have
all found the right person to love and support us and if we teach our
children nothing more than the lessons our parents taught us ( that
family is above all else) then we are successful parents. I love you
all! 2001-01-18 08:35:31, Nina |
| I will agree with
Kurt on the meaning of love. I do not think there is any one way to
describe what love means. Everyone has a different thought on that. Each
person gives and receives love in a different way. Who or what teaches
people to love? Do you learn it from parents or on our own? I love my family, My
children, Derek, friends and of course chips and salsa!!!! 2001-01-17 16:51:50, love ,Barbra |
| I have read many
things in this web page. Happiness and sadness and about good times
and bad times. Often there is only silence on the other end. I know
all of you are busy. But, I ask you to take a minute from your busy
day to do as Kurt has done and open up your hearts and say what must
be inside of your minds. I look forward to hearing from you. 2001-01-17 12:26:57, Dad |
| Well, What
a profound
statement on life! Kurt you have said a mouthful. I am impressed.
There is not much I can add to your reflections on life. Love is what
makes the world go round. Not technically, but spiritually. The most
important choice we make in life is our spouse. A good spouse can make
life wonderful but a bad one can ruin life for many years. That person
whether good or bad, influences everything we do. Secondly, if we are
worth a damn, our children are the most important product we ever
produce. Influencing them for the brief period that they are able and
willing to be influenced, is the most important act that we ever do. It
transcends our profession. For jobs come and go, while we are parents
for as long as we live and perhaps even longer. What is our job in
that process? To me it is to keep our children alive, for they are
often prone to courting death. If we can keep them alive till they are
able to fend for themselves, we have worked a miracle. The second job
is to influence them in a positive way. Give them the tools to survive
in this dangerous world. Teach them manners and morals and ethics and
support them all of the time. But we also must advise them when they
are going wrong. That is the hardest thing we do. It is easy to be a
nice parent. Harder to be firm and judgmental. Especially when our
children do not seek our advice. If we have done all of that, we have
just begun to earn our stripes as a parent. The job is never done. So
making the right selection of a mate, we can accomplish anything. What
do you think? 2001-01-17 12:22:58, Dad |
| Hello
everyone. I just wanted to share Sarah's report card. ALL A'S and 6
B's. Sarah I am
proud of you. Hope you always love school. Great job. 2001-01-17 07:40:52, Barbra |
| Another grungy day.
But, spring is coming. Birds are singing and camellias are blooming. Is
winter over? Not yet, but soon. So far 2001 has been the best year, yet.
You kids sure know how to make your parents happy. Love is the key. 2001-01-16 16:34:47, Dad |
| Congratulations
Hunter on your stripe. You look awesome. Maybe some day you will be
look like Bruce Lee. Come to see GP again, soon. I had almost
forgotten what Kurt looks like. Business demands long hours arduous
days and nights and dedication. Cats in the cradle is the name of the
game. I know what its all about for I did what you are doing and Mama
raised the kids. That is why you kids all turned out so good! Praise
to your Mama 2001-01-15 19:17:43, Dad |
| Amber I was
surprised and so pleased to spend time with you today. Your teeth look
neat and I hope you saved them for history's sake. You can always make
a necklace of them. You will loose more as time goes by so remember the
pain then forget it. I love being with you. We howled with Buddy and
acted like wolves, Ahoooooooooooo 2001-01-15 19:12:48, GP |
| Thanks Bea, I would
not want to go backward. Life has been good and I know this. We all
have to face challenges of varying degrees. I had a great time with
Christy and the kids this weekend. It proved to be an enlightening
experience. Christy has threatened me if I tell of my experience. But
I fear not and think everyone should know that on this trip, Christy
acknowledged that maybe she is where Amber gets her impatience from.
This came after a very tense moment of talking on the cell phone,
turning down a one-way street the wrong way, and wondering why your
mother can't get us pointed in the right direction. All I could do was
laugh and say thank you sweet Jesus. One day I will share the full
story of Christy's awakening. By the way, Hunter was a real trooper
and did sit and watch Amber was once competition started. P.S. don't
ever give Hunter a $5 bill to go buy a $.50 bag of popcorn. Another,
story. As you can tell, I had a blast! Nanny 2001-01-14 10:04:35, Tricia |
| Hey gang.
Remember that the runners will be coming by our place about 9:20 in the a.m.
Give or take some minutes. Come join us if you can and help to head up
the water cups. Should be fun. The runners will be coming by two times
so if you are not here at the first time maybe you can make it a
little later. 2001-01-12 22:13:32, Bea |

| sorry to hear of
your problems Tricia. Hope all goes well with therapy. It sure takes
up time to do it but the payoff is usually good. I hope that
Granddaddy results are good. Getting older sure is not easy but here
is a saying that has given me a better outlook. "Don't regret
growing old...it's a privilege denied to many" 2001-01-11 13:22:33, Bea |
| Oops forgot to tell
you guys last night that Granddaddy went for his biopsy yesterday and
will know in about a week the results. Stay tuned . . . 2001-01-11 12:52:21, Tricia |
| Thanks for thinking
about me. And, you are so right. Physical therapy over shots in the
back any day. I was so glad I got to go see Amber give her speech. I
thought she should have placed. I am not biased at all. I am looking
forward to going to her gym meet. Take care. . . 2001-01-11 12:46:00, Tricia |

can think of.:) Love Barbra 2001-01-10 16:57:07, Barbra |
| HAPPY BIRTHDAY
AMBER. GN and I enjoyed your speech yesterday. Took courage to get up
in front of a lot of people and talk. Many adults would be scarred to
death to do it. Others would rather die. We are proud of you. You did
great! Keep speaking. Success in life depends upon communication. Love
Gp and GM 2001-01-10 10:02:08, Grandpa Joe |

Amber tomorrow. Hope you have a good day and I hope you also know that
we love you. We will celebrate your birthday soon when everyone has
time. We enjoyed seeing you in school day and you did a great job at
the speech competition. Love you 2001-01-09 22:44:13, Grandma Bea and Grandpa Joe |
| OK everybody tell
Nina her haircut looks real nice; Mark told her it made her look like
an "old lady." Great smoozing technique; tell the truth;
always works to impress the girls-NOT. Oh well, at least Nina's hair
can grow out. Easier than it will be for me to lose the weight I
gained between Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Glad Adam is doing well in school and playing hockey; I hope Amber wins at the next level of competition. Great for young people to learn the confidence of getting up in front of a group of people and speaking. Claude 2001-01-09 22:14:11, Claude |
| Adam has a hockey
game tonight at 9:40.Wish the game were not so late. I am proud of Adam
doing well in school and playing a sport to keep him out of trouble. It
is always good to see him play. Anyone you can stay up that late come
watch sometime. When Derek comes home i plan to take him to see Adam play. He
has wanted to go. Hope everyone is doing well. love Barbra 2001-01-09 17:08:27, Barbra |
| ALCON: Heck I
thought the site was still experiencing start-up problems; you know
how those dot.coms are with burning through the cash and not being
able to continue; oh well read Nina's comment about coming down and
"begging" in March; a Colonel makes more money than that so
please just provide them your best food scraps and leave the rest for
Sandy. Sounds like Mom and Dad are getting involved in the
neighborhood maybe they'll stay around for awhile; anyway I know we'll
have visitors living near AJ Henry Park. Wonder if Dad will miss his
emails? Busy week but one nice thing about the military is 4 day weekends for each National Holiday that provides for a 3 day ie the unit adds on an extra day off. I MLK weekend: off Fri to Monday. Just goes with the free shrimp and steaks at the commissary. Glad to see everybody is involved with taking care of the family; as Hillary says "it takes a family." or did she say a village? more her style as she doesn't care about anybody but herself. Bye bye, Claude PS: I hope GW doesn't go "wobbly" with supporting his cabinet members after Chavez withdrew; blood in the water only brings out the sharks and then you really have to show what you are made of to regain the high ground. Dems definition of Bi-partisan means having things your way like at Burger King. 2001-01-08 21:57:48, Claude |
| Dad and I are going
to hand out drinks to the runners that will be coming by our house
Sunday a.m. A girl in our neighborhood runs and so she talked up into
doing this. Should be fun. Anyone that wants to come by and help and
see are welcomed to do so. They should be here between 9:30 and 10
a.m. but you know how that goes. 2001-01-08 16:06:14, Mama Bea |

| Kurt, Amber and
Hunter I loved being with you at AJ Henry Park. Congratulations to you
Amber on your speech. You are talented in writing, poetry, gymnastics
and a beautiful young girl also. Invite me to come to hear your speech
before the entire student body. I will accept. I love you.
Hunter, it was fun to hear about your experiences in the snow. Love

| Hey Claude. Miss you
in Actnuts. 2001-01-06 16:03:47, Dad |
| Barbra looks
absolutely beautiful. Ten years younger. Her short hair highlights her
pretty face and her neck. It is wonderful what love and a new makeover
will do. Derek is lucky to have such a pretty woman. Love ya Barbra.
We had a nice dinner with you last night. 2001-01-06 11:44:59, Dad |
| Barbra, I am glad
you had a good trip to Valdosta. Your hair looks great! Thank you for
coming over to visit. It was good to talk to you. 2001-01-05 23:39:23, Love, Christy |
| I had a good day at
work. Worked from 11-7 and saw plenty of ill or injured people. One little
girl hurt her nose by shooting a 20 gage shot gun and it ricocheted back and cut her nose. She did kill a
squirrel. Her mama was
pretty up set she got hurt. Barbra glad you like your haircut. I am next. I have an appt on Wed for a cut and a style. I am ready for something new!!! Love you All! 2001-01-05 22:19:20, Nina |
| I made it home safe
from my day trip to Valdosta. I think it is a cute town. Had all my hair cut off and feel like a new person. I am now ready for my new life in 2001 with Adam, Sarah, Derek, friends and family. Thank you mom and dad for dinner. love Barbra 2001-01-05 20:11:47, Barbra |
| It is a total thrill
to see a joint session of Congress, This is history in the making.
Seeing the electors decision for President is one I will never forget.
This is a civics lesson that is only imagined in school and it will be
studied and dissected for years to come. Democracy works! I have faith
in the American People. 2001-01-05 15:45:19, Dad |
| Character is
important. Some have it others don't. There are some who are peeping
tom's They look into other peoples windows because they don't have a
life of their own lives. Others snoop around and read other peoples
mail. You'd think they would grow up and act like an adult. But some
jerks will never get the picture. They are just losers and will be
that way forever. What a pity. 2001-01-05 14:11:04, Dad |
| Hello family. It
seems the train is pulling out of the station and we are still
packing. We plan to have Mark and I come down the begging of March and
life with Mama and Dad until we move in the end of MAr. Anyone hearing
of a good nursing job in an office let me know. I have sent my resume
out to several places. We are so excited about moving closer to all of
you. Love 2001-01-05 10:49:01, Nina |
| Dearest Family. I
was thinking of how wonderful it is to be part of a great family. You
know, there are some, out there, who have no one. No one cares for
them. And they care for no one. Why, some of them do not even have a
mother who loves them. How pitiful they are. What a waste of flesh!
They are just bums who try to make life miserable for others cause
they are just worthless losers themselves. We can be glad we don't
have people like that in our family. Get a life! 2001-01-05 08:14:59, Dad |
| Hope that you have a
good day tomorrow Barbra i will be thinking about you and will be
waiting to hear all about it. Be safe on the highways. It is some
country where Derek is. Wish you could all see it. We live in a
beautiful country. As the Kids would say. "it is awesome".
Sarah and Adam, remember the 14th as we may be needing your help. It
should be fun. Love to all. 2001-01-04 23:33:35, Grandma Bea |

| Kurt. I went to the
web page to see the photo's from the mountains but only one came up.
The other sites next) show the title but not a picture. Better
straighten it out for us. I feel disappointed that Amber and Hunter
did not phone us to tell us about the snow. Oh well. Glad that they
had a good time. now back to the routine. Love to all and the best in
the New Year. 2001-01-02 13:00:55, Mama Bea |
| Honey Bea, That is a
hard act to follow. Here we are in the new year. 20001, a space
odyssey. Mama and I wish you all the very best in the next 12 months.
Barbra and Derek, we are so happy for you. At last you have found true
love. Barbra you never have looked happier. You are one of the most
beautiful women I have ever seen. Love does that. Physical love, YES!
but spiritual love also. Love is happiness. Without love, life is
worthless. But we have to work for it.. for it does not come easily
and is easily lost. It is why we do what we do. Derek, we are so glad
that you have come into our family. You are the very best. An officer
and a gentleman. You and Barbra have won life's lottery. Rich beyond
compare. Happiness is wealth, but, you can't buy it. Family Shipley,
we can't believe that you are finally coming to Tallahassee. Our
family get tog ether's will never be the same. Buddy and I will never
be able to pass Shipley House on my way to AJ Henry Park without
stopping and seeing you. Kurt, We hope that we will have more time or
more quality time in the next year. Christy, bring the kids to see us
and we will come to see you. Kim and Heather we love being with you.
We look forward to more time with you in the new year. So, dear
family, Life is great. It has never been greater. We have all of you
to thank for that. 2001-01-01 21:48:51, Dad |
