Another week end comes around. We are all busy and yet there is still
time to say hello. We hope all of you are surviving this busy time in
your life. We enjoyed having Barbra and the kids for dinner (fondue) on

| It was made known to
me today that I need surgery to help my poor painful right foot (toes)
Surgery will be on 24 October to repair the bunion and 3 hammer toes.
Oh what have I done to my feet. I should have gone barefooted.
Recovery will be about 6 weeks. Can drive in about one week. No cast.

| What am I pondering
today? It is a dangerous world out there and we must all take care.
People are watching and there are some who do not have your best
interests at heart. But, we can't live like that for long and soon we
drop our guard. Being a human is being involved. We are all a part of
humanity. Kids have their own special problems just as parents and
spouses and grandparents do. It is easy to forget that fact and thus,
loose our ablity to empathize with others. That is a fatal flaw in
life. Being happy seems so easy but it gets thrown off track by the
smallest events. That is what I am pondering this morning. Remember

is on the way. Excitement! Is everything tied down? where will it hit?

coming to visit for he has many things to care for. The boat and all

attended the play, Who is Afraid of Virginia Wolf, last night at the
Little Theater. We enjoyed our night out on the town but are still
wondering what the play was all about. Much cursing and bickering and

| A few inches of rain
and the world comes to an end! What will we do when the real end
arrives? What chickens we are. No wonder Chicken Little exclaimed,
"The sky is falling." Well there is water in Lake Kilkee,
but not very much. We could take a bath in it but not get our knees
wet. It was good to have Barbra and the kids here for lunch today.
Last night we had a family dinner with Barbra and the kids. Mama made
turkey and mashed potatoes for Adam. Sarah spent the day with us because
she was ill. As soon as she got a social invitation to go out
and eat, she got better in a hurry. This is the last day of Summer and
so Autumn is here and the days are getting short. It is still warm
here but there is a hint of Fall in the air. Soon it will be Barbra's
birthday. Another year has passed. What an exciting one we have all
had. Some of it we did not wish for. What will we think a decade from
now when we look back on this year? Will the cousins be friends? Will
they have their own parties or will they go off and be strangers. It
is best to look on the brighter side and think of all the good things

today? Well some are taking a day off. Some are gone to Savanna. Some
are lounging around and the others? well they are somewhere. It is a
lazy September Sunday afternoon. Soon the days will turn cool and we
will build a fire in the fireplace. Summer is over and it was short
and hot and dry. In a few days, Barbra will be another year older.
Perhaps we can all get together to help her celebrate her big day. You

of a rain last night and now I am cold as temps have dropped It is
also overcast outside and reminds me of Germany. I am disappointed as
I did not get a job at the hospital. I was so hopeful but they wanted

| It is good to see
Nina in the guest book. We are sorry that you did not get the job but

going to get experience if you don't hire me?"...and they did. It
feels like Autumn here in Tally. How absolutely wonderful. Wearing
long pants and a sweater is the best. I hear the kids were cool at the
bus stop today. There are many colder days ahead, so, get out your

ended up selling 79 cars.
What
a rain! I'm not sure if I should even go to work this
